An Elementary Inquiry into Liu Hui's Method of Exhaustion Author: Wann-Sheng Horng(Department of Mathematics College of Sciences )

Abstract：

The method of exhaustion is the most important method in proving some area and volume formula before calculus was invented. In the article, emphasis is placed on Liu Hui's method of exhaustion as compared with the method of exhaustion in Euclid's Elements.
